What a World Cup winner looks like.

 --------------------------------------------------
World Cup Winner.

So this is what a world cup winner looks like. Yes again, while I get on with other stuff, this is another sketchbook drawing that I've played around with colouring. I think I've got a bit carried away with it but hey its nations least favourite Charlton, Jackie.

Three Figures

 --------------------------------------------------
Fig.

Really these are just three sketchbook drawings that I've pulled out and coloured, but I like the relationship between the three. They're all heavy drinkers, but I fear there are victims and antagonists amongst the group.

What's in you're cup

 --------------------------------------------------
Are You drinking...

George Orwell declares eleven rules for 'A Nice Cup of Tea' mainly about the quantities and timings of the ritual. He takes the tea pot as a given in the preparation but is very pragmatic about it's use. I dread to think of what he'd make of the mass use of the tea bag and the bastardisation that its use brings to the ceremony.

Rules for making Tea

 --------------------------------------------------
Rules for making Tea

These are a few initial drawings from what I planned to be a fairly brief, superficial project, but I fear may snow ball. It's a bit of an illustrator cliche but hey at least its not coffee and there are so many interesting to draw with the ritual of making tea. There will definitely be more of these types of things to come and in the meantime check out George Orwell's 'A Nice Cup of Tea'.

Beryl Burton Sketches

Sketchbook Footballers

-----------------------------------------------------
Sketchbook Footballers

Again just a couple of sketchbook pages I've pulled out and coloured afterwards. The colours are mostly inspired by cigarette cards. They're not perfect but I quite like them.

I should be posting a few more bits soon.

Sketchbook Drawings

-----------------------------------------------
Sketchbook

I usually start my day with a few drawings made from a rather confused collection of photos I have stashed away. Today I thought I' share a few of them with you.

Dun-A-Dun-A-Dun-A-Dun-A-Dun-A-Dun-A-Dun-A-Dun-A

--------------------------------------------------------
Dun-A-Dun-A

Not really sure if its "din-a-din-a", "Dun-A-Dun-A" or even "Nan-A-Nan-A". But enjoy in your choice of four colours.

Beryl & 'Mac'

Today I've been testing out some drawings for my on going Beryl Burton project. I'm not really sure about my Burton portraits but thought I'd put them up so you'd all know what I'd been up to.

Let's skip

----------------------------------------------------
"Hey, Batman can skip"

Because boys are allowed to skip too. I always admired Batman
Huw's dexterity when he skipped and held him as a secret champion fighting against the playground gender divide.

Tour de France

-------------------------------------------------------
Isotonic Vino

To celebrate the start of the 100th Tour de France on Saturday I did this little drawing. I'm pretty sure a bottle of wine is what you're meant to have whilst cycling, otherwise they wouldn't have those handy bottle holders. Well I know that's how Wiggins did it.

Batman Huw

--------------------------------------------------
Duna-Duna-Duna-Duna-Batman!

A little sketch I did over the weekend hugely inspired by a photo found on Pinterest, which reminded me of an imaginary friend I had, his name was Huw. I didn't really like batman but he did.

A Little Cycling Sketchbook

This has been a bit of a mammoth day of blogging for me, I think I've needed to do this for a while, but these drawings are a bit more current. They are part of a little project I'm playing around with inspired by a BBC radio 4 afternoon play written by Maxine Peake called 'Beryl: A love story on two wheels', and a pile of 1970s 'Cycling' magazines which are occupying a corner of my room.

I'll be posting a few more drawings from this series in the coming weeks so keep an eye out.
